Metro Life Flight from Cleveland, Ohio. They own 4 helos. All Sikorsky S-76s. Number 1 is based in Cleveland, Number 2 is based in Highland Hills, Number 3 is based in Canton and Number 4 is the back-up which is rotated throughout the bases. None of these 4 helos (N761MH, N762MH, N763MH, or N764MH) are assigned to a permanent base as in some programs. They rotate them out around the 3 bases. The 4th helo is usually down at Burke Lakefront airport being torndown and re-built for the 500 hour checks.



Here is 764MH at Lake West Hospital in Lake County picking up a trauma victim that was struck by a vehicle.

University MedEvac runs 2 Helos from bases in Middlefield, Ohio and Lorain, Ohio. N117KC is MedEvac 1, N118WS is MedEvac 2. The letters in the tail numbers are in memory of Pilot William Spence and Nurse Kelly Conti who were killed in a tragic crash of STAT MedEvac 8 at University Hospitals of Cleveland on January 18, 2002. STAT MedEvac previously ran these 2 helos as MedEvac 8 in Solon, and MedEvac 12 in Lorain. N118WS was originally an EC135 which they traded for a BK117. The EC135, I believe, is currently being run by STAT MedEvac in Pennsylvania as MedEvac 15 (The former Guthrie 1)

Westchester Medical Center sold off 'Stat-flight' to LifeNet of NY. The bird pictured in your photo was sent for refurb, and I believe is now at Lifenet's new fifth base in Harris, NY. The Valhalla, NY base (Westchester Medical Center) now operates this EC-135. Photo was taken at my wife's EMT class.

The interior is very cramped, with room for one patient. There is another seat at the head of the patient, which is just out of camera range. If loaded, the patients feet would be to the right, and slighhtly behind the chair with the gray helmet.

I was in Las Vegas over the weekend for a family wedding and shot a few rigs and a few helicopters.



Here is Mercy Air out of Boulder City, NV. This is a Bell 412 owned by Air Methods.

Nice picture. I think that is a Bell 222, definitely not a 412. Do you have any other pics that show the N number? You can go to Landings.com and plug in the N number, it will tell you the registration info. It looks like the n number is 220LN, but its hard to tell from the pic.

the other day i was taking pictures of the air angels helicopter ( they are based in bolingbrook il.) and

security at loyola hosp. where they were landing were not happy and they made me delete the pics

Its amazing that so many police/fire/EMS agencies worry about having their apparatus photographed but at the same time will roll out everything they have to some public event and wouldn't think twice about letting anyone take pictures. For instances, take National Law Enforcement Memorial Week in DC. No where else would you be able to find such a wide variety of vehicles from almost every type of LEA in the US in such a small area, all on display for the world to see. No one ever worries about "security then but try walking into lets say the US Capitol Police and ask to photograph their vehicles, they would probable laugh you out of the station.



I could never understand how a picture of a crown vic with a light bar and some decals hampered national security.. and I work full time in emergency management/homeland security.

Sorry that is the only photo I have. 2 others of the same also. I thought the mechanic said it was a 412 and you would think he would know, but that was off memory after shooting all the Boulder City, NV apparatus. Again "I thought he said 412", but after looking over helispot.com, you appear to be right. Its a 222.

Idiots. Go to the Emergency Vehicle Show in Aurora in August and they'll land there and let people climb all over the thing. Sometimes I think you get a guard who thinks he's the head of the FBI. Were you on Loyola property? I'm such an *** I would have asked him to call the police and ask about the legalities of taking photos, especially if you weren't on their property.



Quick question for those in the know - I'm pretty friendly with one of the flight nurses on one of our local helicopters, and they just bought four rehabbed birds over the past year or so for Lifeline out of Rockford (IL) and their sister hospital out of Peoria, which runs two birds. The fourth will rotate for maintenance. They're all Bells, with two blades. She flat out said that the four blade aircraft "ride" horribly and beat up the people working in the back, and they specifically wanted two blade. Is this really the case?

Some heli-med news from the UK!



For several years, i've has been supporting the appeal to raise enough funds for an air ambulance for Surrey. Well, it has finally arrived, and 8th June was the formal launch of the helicopter at Dunsfold Airfield, in deepest Surrey. Never had a seen such a large collection of dignatories, high sheriffs, mayors, mayoresses, councillors, senior emergency services officers, etc in one place! The "patron" of the appeal, Penelope Keith CBE (former High Sheriff of Surrey) launched the service just before 4pm, and the current helipcopter G-WYPA landed on site a few minutes later. This will be replaced by a new MD902 sometime in September this year.



The Surrey and Sussex schemes will share the same helicopter, which is based on the Surrey/Sussex border, and will provide a 15 minute response time to anywhere in the two counties. This is an extenstion to the existing Kent Air Ambulance Scheme, which has been running for many years.



With so many busy road in our area (including M3, M23, M25) and some fairly inaccessible rural areas, this resource will be invaluable in saving lives. From being "behind" many other counties in not having an air ambulance capability, this scheme puts them at the forefront, as the unit will be manned by "Critical Care Paramedics" - see [url="http://www.secamb.nhs.uk/latest-news/june-2007/specialist-paramedics-soon-to-take-to-the-skies/"]press release[/url]
