BCC 1964 GMC/60 Bruco; this was a chassis remount of the squad body that was on the Mack "N" chassis; BCC also got a GMC/Swab which was almost identical at about the same time.

Wasn't the GMC remount because of the N model Mack being underpowered? I seem to remember hearing that somewhere but I can't verify it as fact or fiction.

The "N" Model Mack is the Budd cab. If you looked at it quickly you would have that that it was a Ford.

An N Model Mack looks like the Ford C Budd type cab. Only 5 fire apparatus were produced with this cab between 1960 & 1963.

Marshall, if you mean the brush truck, no I don't. I think it was similar to the Chevy/Howe that Clarksville,Howard Co. had and Rocky Ridge, MD. still has.

Actually, John Malecky's "Mack Tilt-Cab Fire Apparatus" book, which is 1 of FAJ's best books ever (IMHO), lists 10 N-model fire apparatus, 9 original and 1 convert. The chassis was produced between 1958-62.

I took my information from the foremost Mack authority in the free world as we know it today, Mr. Harvey Eckart, and his book "Mack Fire Trucks 1911-2005 An Illustrated History".
