Although I'm not a fan of slime or even yellow fire apparatus, I'd have to say this is still pretty neat - never got a pic in service, but in 10/94, its private owner brought it to CCFD's open house, and even parked it in front of its old bay!

Montgomery County's 1st real haz-mat truck was this converted 1976 Chev C/Firemaster ?/? midi-pumper that was with the Cabin John VFD, the haz-mat team has been at CCFD since its start (83 or 84?).

Replacing the converted pumper in 1990 was this Ford F-8000/Hackney, shown in front of Sta. 7 in 1992.

I bought it for my self. It was a deal I couldn't turn down. I'm looking for some action shots with the truck in it if you know anyone who has any.
The Gaithersburg-Washington Grove VFD operates 2 stations - this is Sta. 8 in Montgomery Village in 1992, with medic and BLS ambos, tower, and engine. This station has always been one of the busiest in Maryland.

This was the original Sta. 8, located in "oldtown" Gaithersburg until about 1978, when the present station was built almost a mile to the north. This building survives as the GWGVFD social hall and several of the engine bays were refurbished into the Gaithersburg Fire Museum.

E-81 was a 1967 Hahn 1000/500, the sign shows things haven't changed in 40 years.

E-281 was a 1955 Duplex/Oren 750/? assigned to G-WGVFD Sta. 28, which was built in 1968 in a rural area southeast of Gaithersburg. This area is awash in all the excesses of suburbia now though.

A true classic, Gaithersburg's 1950 IH/American 500/500 engine which I think was the 1st white piece and it lasted into the 1970's.

Known as Twin Agent 19 for much of its career in Montco, this rig was moved to Sta. 28, apparently since they are 1st due at the Montgomery Airpark. The 1975 Dodge W-300 Power Wagon/Ansul Magnum unit carried 450# Purple K and 100 gal. AFFF. After about 25 years in Montco, it was sold to the Carroll Manor VFD in Frederick County, MD., where it was refurbished into a distinctive brush truck that then served until last year.
