In looking at some of my pictures.. they are really bad... and I am really sorry for that. My camera is approaching the end of it's lifespan and needs to go. I promise better pictures over the course of the next couple of weeks!
Ohh no... I have egg on my face.. I get the McConnells mixed up all the time!! I did indeed mean McConnellstown in Huntingdon County and not McConnellsburg in Fulton County (which I need to visit yet again). Glad you liked the Bruco from North Sewickley.. it is a nice piece.
The excitement for the weekend though came in the form of Syosset's antique, when Syosset sold this piece the first time it went to York New Salem, Pa and than onto Snowbrush, WV. It was found in a warehouse and Syosset obtained it back and is starting the process of restoring it.
The start of our trip was Pocono Summit, Pa, we are currently looking at replacing our engine so they have been on the look out for any designs that catches their eye. After Fire Expo the buzz was over the Rescue-Engine from the Pocono Summit Fire Department, since I travel and take pictures I was asked to get some shots of the piece. They were very nice and agreed to pull the other apparatus out as well.
The next stop was Fredon, NJ... Fredon is home to some really beautiful apparatus. As we were about a mile outside of Fredon I saw Fire Police up ahead blocking off the road. I jumped at my chance to photograph their apparatus at work.... well the fire policeman informed me that the NJ State Police don't take to kindly to photographing at a fatal accident... it made good sense to me also (I hadn't know it was a fatal) so I jumped back into the car and found my way around the accident. I arrived at their station to play the waiting game..so these shots were taken in bad conditions... there was no direct sunlight.... there was NO sunlight.. but the stuff was nice and the oppurtunity was there.. so I photographed them.
