Arlington Mass. has apparently placed a used Seagrave into service at Engine 3. Anyone have any info? (Thanks to Belmont112 for the 4-1-1)

Come to think of it, that MAY be an old Arlington pump body on a 'new' (used) chassis/cab. Hmmmm. The world waits....wonders........

Dont hold me to it but i guess this came from NJ unknown if the whole rig did or just the cab

O ok Eric makes sense, I know they replaced some apparatus last year or so...maybe the old E-22 or E-63 if anyone is more familiar with Cherry Hill then me...

According to Cherry Hills website it looks like old engine 23.

It was for sale for $35,000.

Pittsfield finally has a new ladder (and it is a tower) - I will try to get up there sometime soon to get my own shots of this beast. BTW I hear from good sources that the '74 ALF will be sold CHEAP!

I guess I had bad info - 3 out 3 folks I told this to told me that the old 74 ALF will be going to Dalton.

Ahh, the continuing death of the English language, both spoken and written. Did anyone else spot this gem in the second paragraph?

Fire Capt. Michael Polidoro said the 2009 model, made by Pierce, with its 1,000-pound capacity platform can make safer rescues



Perhaps it can make the rescues more SAFELY. I'm not sure of the need to 'make safer rescues.' I always thought our job was to rescue those in danger, not those who were safe.



I also noted this quote:

Acting Fire Chief James Sullivan said the platform also has "two big water guns"



I'm inclined to lay this second one at the feet of the reporter. I hope the Acting Chief didn't call them Big Water Guns.



No disrespect is intended to the firefighters involved. I know it is distinctly possible they were misquoted. I sincerely hope that was the case.

The Berkshire "Beagle" is not known for high quality journalism; watch the video even though the Captain stammers a bit here and there what he says and what is not what is above. Big water guns wouldn't be my first choice as how to properly describe the tower monitors, but it certainly gets the point across to Joe Citizen.

It is a 1988 Seagrave with a 1500 GPM pump and a 500 gallon tank. I'm guessing the old Engine 4 (the Pierce), that served as Engine 3 for a short time, was pretty well-worn.
