Usually from what I hear I think these days, the city puts the old rigs in the junkyard for about a month or so and then I think at the end of every month they auction them off, but I don't know if that is how it definitely works.

I found these two sitting at a house beside the Riverview FD just outside of Fort Mill, SC yesterday. First up is this American LaFrance 85' Midmount lettered for Rock Hill Truck 3. Didn't get any info off the trucks as they were sitting in the driveway.

Wow, I knew that there was a 1958 Maxim from Jackson Township, OH that was sold to a department in Canada, but this is clearly not the same truck. This is early to mid 1950's vintage. If someone had a SN I could tell you where it came from. Without, its pretty difficult. I found nothing in my database under a Novia Scotia or Canada search.
Also interesting to see the Vienna/Nanjemoy rig. I had it in my records that it was sold to a collector in 1995. Hope he does something respectful with that one of a kind 1951 Ford-Maxim. There are two photos of this rig while in service on my Maxim website. This strictly a SWAG, but my FD used to have a '49 with this nose on it. Would the '41 still be a 'sweetheart' grille? What year did they end anyway? I'm guessing this is the '48.
