And here was the main reason I set out on my little trip. Matthews took delivery of this unit back in the summer and it is one sweet truck. It has seating for 6, a Detroit 60 Series engine, a 20KW Harrison hydraulic generator, and a set of Hurst extrication tools.
Another view of Matthews Engine 12. This was one big truck, I don't know how well it gets around their district but it is a sweet looking truck. I just found out after I was down in that area that neighboring Mint Hill also has a new truck so I'll have to go back down there again soon.

Oh my God!! The cement mixer front tires/wheels look GREAT!!!! We have been talking about putting a set of those high flotation tires on our Scope for awhile... now I can get an idea of what it would look like!!
I was able to shoot the Mack/Scope from Whitehall a few years ago. Its great to see that thing still in service in another department. Whitehall use to be all macks up until a few years ago. Now they are almost completeley Sutphen, but I was told that their new ladder is an E\-One. When I stopped out the other day it hadn't arrived yet.
