It's been at Tower Ladder 3 for about two years.

Ladder 25 is using ST16 (Spare Truck 16) for long-term and Ladder 26 has ST28. Tower Ladder 3 is running a straight stick spare and Ladder 21 has a spare as well. I believe 3 has ST9 and 21 has ST29, which is an open-cab.
Are there any new rigs on the table, or are you hearing the famous line "Sorry, but due to our financial situation..." Waterbury (CT) had a similar tradgedy quite a few years ago resulting in 2 LODD's. Most of the fleet got "red-tagged" and they ended up borrowing rigs on a long term basis from New Haven and FDNY. They ended up purchasing a bunch of demos just to put a fleet on the road.

The E\-One rearmount tower that TL3 had been assigned was damaged in an MVA and it wasn't cost effective to repair it (major damage to the bucket). It was decided to reassign TL2's Pierce Mid-Mount TL to TL3 and give L2 a new 2008 E\-One 110' Rearmount. Basically the figured it wouldn't take much longer for TL3 to get to Eastie if needed so that's why they moved it.

We have a new Rescue 2 (KME), W12 (Air Supply, KME) and Rearmount Ladder (E\-One) all due the first week of July. Bids are still pending on two new pumpers and a new TDA.

A new TDA? Is there anyone left on the job who knows how to tiller?

In my version of Word, it's called "Excess", but I've seen it called "Army" and "Boston Black" as well.

There's quite a few. The last TDA's didn't leave frontline service until 1989 and then were in the spare pool until the mid-1990's. There's a rumor that the city would prefer to purchase two so that they could train two companies on how to tiller to cut down on OT.

That's not much for new or pending apparatus with the state that the BFD apparatus are in.It's a shame as you guys went from having a good fleet over the years to one that is now in dis-repair...Good Luck to the Boston Brothers.

A typographer told me, a very long time ago, that the font was Futura Black.

Got it now, for some reason my computer isn't unzipping files via the "extract all" option, I had to manually do it. It's doing the same thing with all zipped files.

Since then we've replaced that piece with 2 Pierce 95' MidMount TL's & a Pierce 85' Rearmount TL, none of which has a pump. None of our rearmounts have ever had pumps or prepiped ladderpipes. We don't run Quints at all. We're an Interior Department, I could count on one hand the number of times we've gone into defensive ops over the past few years and needed to set up the ladder pipes.
What about Engine 20.....Growing up I remember it having a stick.
