This mid 1970's Maxim tiller is up for auction on eBay right now. Being sold from Lancaster, PA. The seller has the incorrect SN though and curious if anyone knows where this rig served. I think its safe to say its a 'relic'. Judging by the body work it needs, I doubt this one will last much longer as a complete truck.

Howie,

I was also wondering where she served. Following my research, my best guess would be Schenectady, NY. They had a 1974 Maxim FFCLT100 100' tiller with serial # 3226. (The incorrect s/n shown on e-bay states 3236- a pumper for Seminole, FL) In my informal research, I found Maxim had only produced 11 or so F model 100' tillers in the time frame around 1974. But none come as close as Schenectady to the stated e-bay serial #. I'll see if I can come up with a photo to make a definitive match. I'll keep you posted.

Schenectady trucks of this era had "Fire Dept." and the unit number on the doors, just like this one does. I would say that it has to be a Schenectady rig.

God, that makes me feel old, I remember George Clay FC bringing the A-car to fire school and parades in Montgomery County, PA in the 1970's. One of the last USFA rigs I remember being in active service, behind the ALF 900 and the WLF Tele-squrt in "West Conshie". <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Captain.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Captain' />
