Empire State Oldies
Next up is something a bit different. this is a 196? Chevrolet Ambulance, which formerly served the Macedon NY FD. It is now privately owned, and is seen quite frequently at local musters and parades. It was also on display for a while at the NYS Museum when they had their display of Ambulances there last year.

Next up is this 1950 Chevrolet/Young Engine owned by the Walworth FD. This vehicle when delivered new in the fall of 1950 was painted White, and cost $8,349.00. It was designated as Engine-37, and was replaced in 1982 by a Ford C/ Sanford Pumper/Tanker. The rig is still used by Walworth FD in parades, shows and musters. My grandfather used to run on this rig when it was new, and my cousin, or his father-in-law sometimes can be seen driving it in local parades.

I lived in Mattydale when I was a young kid, and while I remember some of their old rigs, I don't remember this one. I do believe that this truck spent some time in Parish NY up till the early 80's. I know they bought the truck used and stayed yellow the whole time in service there, while the rest of their fleet was red.

As a newbie to this I thought I'd share a classic with you. Hewlett FD on Long Island had this mint '50 ALF 85' TT well into the '80s. More to follow when I get used to shrinking the foto file...

I know that I've posted this before, but, what the hell! The Buffalo NY Airport had this awesome 1952 Mack L CFR rig. It had a 750 gpm pump and a 400 gallon tank. This would have been a great rig to preserve. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />
