I would love to take a closer look at this truck or even get my hands on it. My dad has served (still does) at Vienna for a LONG time. He's talked about this unit and how unique it is.



I did recently find a video from the Fairfax County Professional Fire/Rescue Officer's website with a video of all the Fairfax County stations during the 1950s. Vienna's segment included a shot of this pumper sitting on the front ramp as well as pulling away with a bunch of guys on the tailboard.



   



The video also has a shot of the 1946 Maxim with the big white wall tires.



   



And I haven't asked him yet, but I think this is dad, the short one in the middle. Oh, did I say short? Don't tell him <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fireman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ...

I found this old Anne Arundel County, Maryland Seagrave ladder truck sitting across the street from the Oak Grove, Virginia fire station in Westmoreland County. It is sitting behind an abandoned house that was used as a haunted house for halloween.

I think that truck is probably old Truck 23 or 26. Truck 33 had the up dated lights in the front. Maybe Hungrybus can help with this one.

This truck has been down in Oak Grove for at least 10 or 11 years now.When I was much younger my family used to camp at Harbor View and I still take a ride through there every now and then.If I remember correctly,the first time I saw this down there it was with a bunch of old vehicles at an old school on Rt 3

This would have originally been Tr-32 or 33. Tr-23's original rig was the only one of the three Seagrave tiller trucks that Anne Arundel Co. had that was delivered as a 4 door cab. All three of these Seagrave ladders got shifted around to different stations during their first line careers.

Not quite a relic yet, but may be getting there... This Engine is from what used to be the Westinghouse Science and Technology Center, in Churchill, near Pittsburgh, PA. The unit originally served Churchill VFD as a light rescue unit (no pump). Upon Churchill purchasing their Ford rescue in the 1990’s it was purchased by Westinghouse to replace their old Mack L engine (FAJ, March-April 1998).



Once purchased by Westinghouse it was given a full refurbishment by 4-Guys, to include a 250gpm pump and 300gal tank, repainted, and relettered, after which it sat in a garage for most of its life (Last PA state inspection: 1999). The Science and Technology Center is now owned by a landlord (now known as the George Westinghouse Science & Technology Park) and rented out to various companies. Most of Westinghouse went the way of the dinosaur (extinct except for the nuclear sector) and most of the old sites saw their fire brigades disappear. The brigade still “exists” at this site, but with only 4 members it has very little capability. So, without further ado:

This Engine was the second piece of a two piece engine company responding to a building fire in Bladensburg. It ran as Engine 303. The accident occured at Annapolis Road and Cooper Lane in Landover Hills. The wagon with a crew of 4, Engine 301 pictured in this thread (M00301) a 1971 Mack CF 1000 gpm/300 gwt, had passed through the intersection, a handicapped school bus on Cooper Lane thought it was okay to proceed and pulled in front of Engine 303, the pumper operated by a single firefighter. The pumper struck the school bus broad side flipping the bus on its side. The school bus was full of children, none received serious injury. The operator of Engine 303 was not injuried. The engine was deemed beyond repair and junked.

This was Anne Arundel County, Maryland Truck 5, It never made it in service as Truck 5 , it was later assigned to Truck 31 in the Brooklyn section of the county. It went into the reserve fleet as Truck 51.
