Larry also owns former Memphis Truck 18.

Larry has every piece that has ran out of the 39's house since the station was put in service.

Which includes the former 195x Whitehaven Pirsch that later ran as E39 and E39's 1976 ALF as well.

This was the station of his "childhood"

Pardon my father in the pic

Kevin, the last time I checked Corgi's web site, it still doesn't list this ride. It has a similer rig for Milwaukee, is still being made. I also thought that Corgi was going to produce a Memphis Battalion Chief car from the 1950's too.

I have a MFD chief car that came from corgi, I got it at Walmart I think . I tried to find the E-15 online and Corgi listed it as sold out, however there where some on EBay.

MemphisFD153 may be able to elaborate more, but the way I understand it, there were a limited numbers of models made and they have been sold. The museum was not able to get the number of models that were were supposed to receive. I think he was going to work with Corgi and get some more made with a different pumper.

There was a limited run of the Memphis E15 Pirsch that Corgi produced. I beleive it was no more than 1500 ?

Expect other Corgi Pirsch's to come out in the future of other depts.

Im not aware of them producing a 1950's BC car... They did produce a 40's BC car and put Memphis FD on it, however it really doesnt replicate anything from Memphis.

Kevin,

I'll be honest, the flags in the grill was great, 5,6,7 years ago. I am all for the flag, we fly one on our engine, I jyst don;t like them in the grill. I would much rather have the company number in there, but they don't ask me! lol

The raised roof will be great, but just as good is the extended cab. They went with the long 4 door cab instead of the traditional medium 4 door cab that all the E\-One's have. There will be much more roof in the cab for the guys.

The hose bed is lower, but not as low as I would like it to be. Then again, it doesn't matter - we're not getting one. When we are due for one I will have to see if we can make a few minor modifications!!

Robert, nice looking rides. I like the style too. The hose bed could be lower if the booster reel was over the bed or pump area instead on the rear step area. I know Pierce had a good lower bed ride but the reel isn't there like Memphis has. I have seen some posted in these threads. How come the 34's didn't get one? Oh I know they don't listen to Kramer!!

Exactly!!!! lol

Actually John, we didn't politic to get one, not that it would have really mattered. We collectively (all 3 shifts) do not want to get the first batch of any new spec. Although I think they will be great rigs, there will invariably be things that are discovered when they come in that will be changed for the better on the 2nd or 3rd order.

Additionally, the pumper we have now is actually very good when we can keep it on the road. It does go to the shop alot, but when we have it, we can roll pretty good!!
