This is the fourth Aero Chief, also a 70' model, but this has the ALF boom. Only the first two Aero Chief rigs had the Strato-Tower boom. This one was delivered to Greece Ridge, NY in 1964, then sold to Odenton, MD, then to an unknown FD in South Carolina, then to Cartersville, GA where this photo was taken. It was traded in on a Pierce 50' Telesqurt in 1995.
I just read that American La France is pretty much done is that true? I also heard E\-One was looking at the current ALF plant for purchase can anyone confirm or deny?

ALF isn't done yet, but they have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. E\-One being interested in that plant is a new one, seeing as how they aren't exactly doing all that great either!
i know i heard that one as well. here in baltimore county we are not very happy with the last batch of alf pumpers we have. we have had our share of problems with them for sure.

Anyone have a history for this piece?
This is ALF Reg. #7-1-169, a 1966 Aero Chief 90 from Milmont Park, PA. They were the only FD to operate it and it was retired a few years ago. There's a better shot of it on www.aerochief.com
