Interesting, and I'm sure I'll get flogged for this, but: <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> 1. I've always thought Demers rigs were funny looking. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> 2. I think the new Fords are <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/machinegun.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ugly. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The odd thing is, I kinda like that one. Perhaps all the chrome and nose lights are helping hide the Ford-liness of it all. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

All of the FDMH apparatus are in the "Everything Wisconsin" thread in the apparatus section.

It was on my way home from work back in October

Out of Illinios I believe. [/quote] For those who keep score, Metro is based out of Loves Park, IL (near Rockford, IL). They provide contract 911 coverage for Loves Park, also some other volunteer departments on the west side of Rockford, as well as the typical nursing home/hospital/whatever transfers. We occassionally run with them if we're on our second or third ambulance run and they're the closest unit available. While I think everyone feels their ambulances are the cleanest inside and outside, the management at Metro takes it to new levels. I have never seen rigs kept so meticulous. This picture doesn't do their rig justice, as I'm sure they were a bit of a ride away from home.

That is quite the journey as I have done the reverse a few times down to Rockford. Thanks.

Videos of this unit can be found on YouTube.
Forsyth County EMS(Forsyth County, NC) Ambulance 17, late model 2006 Ford E-450 with what I think is an AEV body, I asked one of the guys on duty and he said it was a newer delivery. Unit 17, 18(you can see it somewhat) and a few other trucks stay outside as well due to space in the station.
Photo taken by myself. |
