1964 Ford C/Local

X-West Yancey VFD,NC

I don't know the full story of this rig, but if you'll notice, American LaFrance is on the front also near the headlights. The body looks to be an oil tanker, so this truck my have been "kitbashed" together from a Ford C/ALF engine.

WEST WHITELAND

1960 Ford C-950/Harwick, std. tilt-COE, 750/800. The unit was ordered 9/60 for $22,791. The chassis was ordered from Matthews Ford in Paoli. It was housed on 8/25/62. It was sold in 1984 to the Olive Branch Fire Company (DeSoto County), Miss.

OGDEN

1959 Ford C/American LaFrance, full cab, high pressure with 300 gallons of water. Know idea what happen to this.

PAOLI

1980 Ford C700/Pierce,std. tilt-COE, mini-pumper, 250/400, cascade. First utilized as a initial attack unit, converted to a rescue truck in 1986. It was converted back to a tactical unit in 10/92 when the new rescue went in service. In August of 1997, when it was about to go up for sale, responded to a car fire, the driver engaged the PTO pump, exited the vehicle, throttled up, the rig jumped into gear, it veered off the road into a tree, extensive damage to the cab. The insurance company would not total it. It was sent to Pierce in September for repairs. Pierce had a tough time finding a Ford C cabover to replace the one damaged. It has a 429 CI gas motor, automatic, 6.5 KW Onan gas generator, 5-6000 lb. cascade, and a Hickey Sidewinder 9000 lb. winch. It was sold in 12/2000 for $9,000 which included $15,000 worth of equipment to the County of Chester to be used by the Fire School. Still there today.
