Loudoun County, Virginia. Assigned to the training center in Leesburg is Engine 99 and Ambulance 99.
Engine 99 is a 2002 Pierce Enforcer 1250/750 with job number 12990 and see through pump panel. It is currently running as Wagon 16 in Neersville until the arrival of a new engine for Neersville.
Ashburn, Virginia Engine 6 - old and new. The old is a 1980 Hahn rehabed in 1993 by LSI. 1000/500. The "newer" Engine 6 is a 2003 Spartan Gladiator/Ferrara 1500/500 (one of four similar owned by Ashburn). This photo was taken just when the Ferrara was placed into service.
We still own the Hahn as a cemermonial/parade piece.

Engine 23 (right) is a 2003 Spartan Gladiator/Ferrara 1500/500. Reserve Engine 23 is a 2005 model with same specs. They drive great and we rotate them first out every week.
Located just outside of Front Royal, Virginia is the Consevation and Research Center, National Zoological Park of the Smithsonian Institute. This is a private fire brigade that is staffed by employees. They study exotic animals and grow all of the hay, grass, etc. that feeds the animals at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.
Engine 71 is a 1970 Reo M45 2.5 ton 6x6 750/1000. Ex- Ft. Meade, Maryland.
Brush 7 is a 1967 Jeep 1/4 ton 4x4 ex- military 115/300.
Carova Beach, North Carolina is located on the Outer Banx and is several miles south of the Virginia/North Carolina border. It is in Currituck County.
No roads here - the only main paved areas are the FD's short ramp and a helicopter landing zone located next to the FD. The main road of this community is actually the beach. If you don't have 4wd, you are stuck and will pay a hefty towing fee to get you unstuck. They say the richest man in town is the tow truck operator. Wild horses also roam this area.
