And this one is also one of my favorites from the show. It originally served New Hyde Park, NY but is lettered for Marshfield, ME. It's now collector owned. It took all stinking day to snap these last two rigs in good positions. Either the sun wouldn't cooperate or the owners of the trucks wouldn't cooperate. But, hey, I finally got them. This one's a 1970 Young Crusader 1250/500 Pumper #70-336.

Pasco County, FL is one of the areas we hit when we bailed out on the show. Here is a 1987 Ford F8000/Grumman Wildcat 500/1250 Tanker as Tanker 16.

Pasco County is one of the places where we were that the clouds were overpowering the sun. Along with the fact that our poser did a horrible job placing this rig, this made for a bad picture of a neat rig. It's Pasco County's Tanker 32, a 2003 Freightliner FL80/American LaFrance-Becker 500-3000 Tanker #1463.

Macon-Bibb County Airport in GA had some interesting old rigs. They were in deplorable condition but they cranked them up and pulled them out for us to photograph. First up is one of two 1975 Ward LaFrance 750/100/200F as Air Rescue 3 #801196.

Mark...What a shame for two nice classic WLF crash trucks to be in such tough shape. I realize they're quite old already but in a way I can't understand why this happens. Looked good in their original white color. Thanks for posting.

Mark, you said 'original white color,' was that for the department they are at now or did they originally serve elsewhere? Do you have photos of them when they were white? Thanks in advance!

Macon ran white apparatus for many years. I have shots of the two WLF's in white that I can post tomorrow.

One thing I noticed about those old Wards at Macon was that even though they were falling apart, they seemed to run very well. Here are the shots from years ago when they were white.

I like the white Dave; thanks for posting them. You can see in the white though that, even then, they were showing signs being poorly maintained. Might have saved their appearances a bit with a few new gaskets and such. Oh well.

I got a forward from Alex of the photos you guys shot. Was the E\-One engine w/snozzle out of servie at St. 9 in Hillsborough, or did they never take delivery of it?

Patrick, I don't remember exactly what they said was wrong with it THIS time but it seems like it's quite troublesome. This was the second time we'd been there to shoot it and it was gone.

I'm hoping to stop at that station here in a couple weeks, maybe it will be there this time. My main interest is HIT 9. I wanted to get a shot of it now for the past couple years, and never have. Do you guys have a reccomendation as far as a time for St. 9?

We've always shot Station 9 in the afternoon. A morning would be bad due to tall trees behind the station. We generally have them move the rigs out back and position them there mid-afternoonish. When you head over there, Station 11, Station 9, Station 33, Tampa 1 and Tampa's training facility are all pretty close together and in a pretty much stratight shot from east to west. You never know what you'll find at the training center.
