Supplementing the pix just posted by Brian (NJMedic) who I had the pleasure of meeting at this annual memorial and open house.

The facility used by NYPD Aviation and ESU is the former USCG installation at Floyd Bennett Field. They donated it to NYC when they activities were reslocated to Atlantic City NJ in a gov't restructuring several years ago.

The found and restored NYPD (formerly Peekskill NY FD) rescue truck going past the air/sea rescue demo. It was windy back there!

Note the lack of windshield. One is being made and should be installed soon.

I wonder when the NYPD got the decon trailer. Seems like a new piece.

NYC uses a combined purchasing group so when several departments have requests for similar items they're all bought at the same time but painted according to which agency is going to receive them The FD and PD decon trailers, I believe, fall under that category. Here's another PD trailer (w/o tractor) sitting in the ESD parking lot.

There are two differences. This one has external showers on the right side and carries an inventory # - (3598 ESU)

My guess is the FD and PD trailers are from the same order.

Here're clix from Firehouse Expo 2006 showing a single chassis FDNY Decon unit.

Totally forgot to add this...

A NYPD ESU truck you say? Nope, prop vehicle for CSI NY (They film CSI NY caddy-corner to our building on the CBS lot) The neat thing, is that the crew uses it as a tool truck, so it's actually functual.
