Picking up where I left off yesterday, our next stop was the Cherokee Indian Reservation. Andrew has already posted the rigs from Station 2, so I'll add those from Station 1.

I've had the pleasure of visiting Cherokee twice. Once was a Veterans Day, November 11, in the mid 1990's. While all of the towns and cities in that region were very much decorated with American flags flying and memorial wreaths placed at the monuments for fallen US military veterans, I must say that Cherokee had more than most other places we visited with US flags flying every utility pole for a couple of miles. A year ago we were there again, and this time things have changed with the addition of a casino hotel operated by "The Eastern Band of the Cherokees."

Here's the last rig we shot that day. We tried another station, but couldn't get any rigs pulled outside.

I got home Friday night from the NC/SC trip and left for Florida and the Winter Thaw on Sunday morning. I managed to shoot a few more rigs on the way down.

Last one for tonight. Most of the Winter Thaw pics have been posted by Ron and Mark, so I won't duplicate that. When I post next time, it will be the rigs I shot on the trip home from Florida.

After shooting an almost identical Kenworth for Turner County, they gave me directions to this piece. Not sure how I got lost in Ashburn, but was only able to find a firehouse that looked to have been empty for some time. I like the graphics on the Ashburn piece compared to the county engine. Great shots!

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe these 2 Sutphens have the Sutphen "S" cover on the Q2B instead of the Federal "F"...got a front shot of this rig??

The main N-S drag in Ashburn is U.S. 41. Station 1 is south of the center of town (Hwy 112) on the east side of the street. Station 2 is in an old schoolhouse on the west side of town, down 112, on the right.
