It was the JR administration that caused the problem we currently have. They were offered the lot that surrounds the Museum for $1.00 per year for ninety-nine years. His administration scoffed at the offer. The current owner of the lot offered to sell it for $19 million.

Seven of these rigs were received in 1958. The original assignments were Engines 2, 5, 6, 14, 24, 26, and 68. They had high pressure fog capabilities, 750 gpm pumps, and 500 gallon tanks.

Philly had three 1972 ALF 100-foot RM ladders: shop numbers 72958, 72959 and 72960. They also had two 1971 ALF 100' RM ladder trucks: shop numbers 71266 & 71267
. Here is a shot of Ladder 17 operating one of the 1972 ALF's (#72958) in the early 80s.
