This is the one my brother-in-law chiseled out. My wife and I did almost as well and might get some jewelry made out of the stones we got out. If time and money allow we are thinking about hitting the Herkimer Diamond mines next week.

My wife caught a shot of me beating on some of the rocks to get the garnets out, about where I am standing is where above stone came from.

And just to bring things back on topic, here's one of my favorite places 1000 Acre Swap (some centuries ago the area was refered to as Hell's 10,000 acres, today it is part of the little known Cookson State Forrest). I've been buring the last of my vacation time and still have next week off so if the weather is in my favor I should have some more time to do few more "photo safaris" only thing slowing me down is the price of gas - it cost $99.00 to fill my truck today. Guess I gotta get that old bike out of the barn.......
