This appears to be an E Model of the 1940's, not a 1955.

It's a 1955 Mack Model 50 that carries Chassis # 50-S-1012.



By the way, nice finds Gary!! What part of SC did you find that Seagrave & the Ford C/Howe in? I'm not familiar with the intersection of I-82 & SC HWY-8.

1955 is what the guy at the station told me.

its either a 1937 or 1938. As a Fire Apparatus, the E Model was built between 1937 and 1950. there were 45 type 50's built. Serial number 50S-1030 is a 1939, listed in the SPAAMFAA listing as being owned by the Fire Museum of Maryland, and I believe was Ex-Bel Air, MD.



based on that, the one in Tryon is a year or 2 older than the one in Maryland.

This truck looks very simular to a rescue that belonged to Spring FD in Harris County, Texas. Spring is a northern suburb of Houston. I will show this link to a co-worker who is a Volly Chief there.

Ok I give up on this one. I don't know who is right. According to their "Tryon FD" web site it is a 1937 Mack. Just a little FYI Tyger River bought Pelham's old E41. Also the lime EONE from Tyger River started out as Lyman E3 before the merger of Lyman and Zoar.
