Dave,

By any chance when you were at Springfield, did you ask them what they are getting to replace the Tac & engine for sale ?

Dave,

I have this horrible pic of LaMott's Eng 2 when it was still there. It sure looks like what is now Hyde Park's Eng 531 that you posted. Also, the info on Braeview's Ford Cargo that I have is a 1990 Ford CL/4 Guys 1000/550.

Bruce,

I didn't ask about the engine but they are going to get getting another Tac piece like they have... it will have a 750 gallon tank on it with a little bit more compartment room but they are sticking with short and it sounds like it will be a Sutphen again. The paid guy at Springfield clued me in that (this might be old news to you) Reamstown here in Lancaster County placed an order for a new Sutphen tower truck to replace the old one from Springfield... I am looking forward to seeing that. Truthfully I think Springfield could probably get by just fine if they didn't replace the 84 Sutphen... they have 2 pumpers and a Tactical pumper on the front line...but I am sure that Springfield will get something neat looking to replace the 84 Sutphen as well. I had asked why they were getting rid of a 1999 Sutphen if they were still happy with it and it was still running strong.. the guy said that the commisioners like to replace pieces after 10 years or so of service.... plus it has alot of miles of Blue Route travel on it.

Joe,

Thank you for the picture of LaMott's engine when they were running it... I was told it used to belong to LaMott and I can vaguely recall them running it but it just didn't look fancy enough (IE no gold around the wheels, small pump panel) for it to have been a LaMott piece. Thank you for the information on Braeview's piece as well... it has always been one of my favorite pieces and it was really great to get to photograph it!!

Who said anything about starting the piece... we pushed it into position so I wouldn't have to suffer the embarressment of not being able to start it. You guys are just way to funny for your own good....I swear that one day I am going to make a video of me starting every single piece in my fire department as well as every mutial aid station we run with!!!

I have never heard of Fireline before... I assume it is a local company from wherever this piece came from.
