Okay...here we go with some Ward LaFrance Ultra Vision rigs per Dave's special request. We begin with Bristol, Connecticut's 1967 Ward bearing number 80-165 and include before and after shots.
Bristol, Connecticut's 1969 Ward LaFrance number 80-295, again, before and after shots.
Here's the U.S. Navy Submarine Base's 1979 Ward LaFrance/Maxim 100' rear-mount, number 80-1640
New Canaan, Connecticut-Engine 8-1974 Ward LaFrance 1000/3000 bearing number 80-843.
Ward LaFrance number 80-01 was built for Bristol, Rhode Island in 1961 and had a 60' Hi-Ranger Snorkel. Unknown photographer shot this in September, 1964. Mark A. Redman Collection.

When I was in Burbank, CA in 2003 I got a photo of their 1972 Ward LaFrance/Grove 100-foot Mid-Mount aerial ladder, WLF #80-626, delivered on 2/29/72. It was in Reserve status at the time, but looked as good as the day it was delivered. - 2003 Photo by Steve Skaar

- 2003 Photo by Steve Skaar[/quote] Correction: Burbank had two Ward LaFrance aerial ladders. The one pictured in the previous post was their 1975 Ward LaFrance/LTI 100-foot Mid-Mount, WLF #80-1201, delivered on 1/4/75. Sorry about posting the wrong information. Here is a Duane Troxel photo of the 1972 WLF/Grove 100' rear-mount, WLF #80-626 running as Truck 1 in 1976. - 1976 Photo by Duane Troxel
Here is a Duane Troxel photo of Burbank Truck 2 in 1976 running with the 1975 WLF/LTI 100', WLF #80-1201.

Thanks Steve for posting the pics. Both yours and Duane's.
When my family moved from the Newhall area (LACoFD Bn 6) to the Glendale area in '80, the BFD had 2 first line trucks. T11 and T14. T11 was the '66 Crown Snorkel and T14 was the WLF/Grove. I don't remember seeing the WLF/LTI. It may have been a reserve piece by then. The FD reassigned T14 to T12 around '88 or '89 when they formed the Hazmat Squad and rebuilt FS 12. Firebuff51, If you look at my pb album in my sig, under Vintage Rigs, I have a few shots of various Verdugo rigs and some County WLF's from years past.
oops!!!!!
Forgot I did not have a sig on here. Go to photobucket.com and search for caking_2006

They may have just replaced this with a 2008 KME Predator.I will check with the Chief to see where the pair went.
