On my way home from Lynnfield on Saturday, I went by Methuen's Central Station. This Seagrave was parked out back, it had the state Blue Plates on it. I could not find any other info on it. Anyone out there know anything about this gem?

It is at 380 Beacham Street. Not for long. Before the end of next week, it will be moved to the old Mystic Ball Wrecking, 265 Carter Street, (Corner of Carter and Blossom). The Engine will be put inside out of the weather, awaiting for funds for refurbishment.

Was this rig parked in Engine 1's old quarters back in the late 80s/early 90s?

I remember seeing pictures of that. For a while it was kept at the old Engine 5 on Everett Ave, till the the building was sold.

Thanks for confirming that, I haven't seen that rig in 19 years! I'm pleased that it was held onto for so long, I thought they had gotten rid of the rig when the station was closed in 1991. |
