I'm just a lowly fireman Bro. I'm not privy to all that goes on in the world of FDNY apparatus. The only things that I usually report or post on, are the things that I know for facts, via from my own personal observations. I have no contacts in the FDNY shops, so therefore, I couldn't tell you what's going on with R-1's new Pierce.
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!

The silence should be telling, my bet is there are few problems-hence the people that constantly want to bash Pierce have not been able to make much of a stink.

Marc, I agree with your posting. It is GREAT that guys turn to you - they get the real deal for info from you. But its also a shame they think you know it all... Sometimes a Black Helmet is a NICE thing to have... you DON'T have to have all the answers!!! So when do you leave R.O.C. to join the boys in a S.O.C. Unit???

My Friend from E 46 has his helmet on right. There are those of us who were decidedly "single disipline" oriented, although I enjoyed the other side of the floor MUCH,MUCH better. Maybe my Friend will change his mind in a few years. After all, playing with tools, breaking things and being above the fire brings a certian air of singed hair, burned ears, dragging knuckles and Camels which can't be denied! If you're comfortable as a Hose Jockey (like my Friend) or a Truckie (like me), you'll get what you need done, done and be happy to make the contribution. One-One-Oh to Brooklyn K ... that "trip" across the floor was the best move I ever made <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
A few photos shot by my father (Fire Bell Club Director/Honorary FDNY Deputy Chief) at a recent blessing of the FDNY marine fleet....
