Where do I know that truck from? Oh, right. My bottom was attached to it for twenty straight hours on Saturday. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Refinery Terminal Fire Company Corpus Christi Texas recently placed this 2008 FFA in service. I went down on the 4th of July to take a night shot of the rig.
I learned a lot - like when it is dark, being different completely from my normal shooting in bright sunlight - the camera shutter stays open a lot longer than normal.
This, in conjunction with learning that the camera setting I use for shooting (landscape) automatically keeps the flash from
working (I never needed the flash in the daytime) so I didn't have the flash to help.
All that said, my 35MM will probably be garbage, and out of the 30+ shots I took with the digital, I got 9.
All in all, I believe it was a great opportunity and it came out well, considering my lack of experience in night shooting.
Does anyone from the Dallas Fort Worth area know why DFW Airport is selling one of their 2000 Pierce 61' Skyboom quints? I saw it for sale on a for sale site. Curious why they are selling the unit.
