Post #131 what happened to the Bucket on Dale Ciyts tower??
Are there any more photos of the new ferarra rigs floating around anywhere? How many are in service?
Whatever became of the reserve truck purchased by Dale City and OWL from a volunteer company in PA...an E\-One 110' as I recall?
I remember when i was little and my grandfather would take me and my younger brother to OWL and Dale city stations. (He too is a fire buff/photographer) My brother and I got to sit in old tower 513 once. Good times. Awsome tower too. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tower.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Frank,
The basket would leak down after sitting for long periods of time. No big deal just start it up and turn on the aerial power and it would level back out. Considering the pic was taken at Western Branch (Were it lived most of its life <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) and the date on the pic it was waiting around for a new motor. 4 rebuilds, 2 motors, and 1 Radiator later the Tower actually ran well its last 2 years in Dale City.

The reserve truck is close to being finished at AFE. Then it will get lettered and some compartment layout work done by the DCVFD and OWL shops. Hopefully it will be ready for service in Nov. Here are some pics of it with new emergencey, scene lights, mirrors, cylinder holders and wheels. Inside new SCBA brackets, map box, radios, and ect. I will get more pics when its done. Credit to Nate for the photos |
