Ex Webb City, Missouri 1955 American Lafrance 700 Series 100ft Aerial Ladder Ladder Co. 41 purchased used in 1981 from Westbury Long Island New York and removed from active front line service in 2002. (Org from Westbury Long Island New York Fire Department) now privately owned by a Kansas City, Missouri Fireman. I have made phone calls to Wesbury requesting old photos and to let them know we have their old ladder. I have not recieved any response from Westbury, if you know or remember this Truck please foward too Westbury that it still exist and is fully operational. It is a true jem. Stay Safe, Rick

1973 Olathe, Kansas Fire Department responding from Old Fire House 1 at Kansas Ave and Santa Fe St. Engine Co. 3 a 1969 Seagrave pumping engine and (Snorkle) Truck Co. 1 are responding in this 1973 photo Old Fire House 1 was constructed in 1971 for the Snorkle and lived a short life closing in 1983 when the current public safety center was built. The orginal Fire House 1 was directly across the street opening in early 1900's and closing in 1971. Olathe operated two fire house's in 1973 consisting of Fire House One with Engine 3 a 1969 Segrave pump, Truck 1 a 1971 Oshkosh/Pierce/ 85ft Pittman Snorkle and Fire House Two with Engine 2 a 1962 Seagrave pump. Olathe's lone reserve was at Fire House One a 1950 Open top Seagrave Quad as Quad 1.

1970 Olathe, Kansas Fire Department in front of 1962 Fire House One edtion Kansas Ave side. The fire house made an "L" shape around City Hall with fire pole in the rear. Two bays emptied onto Kansas Ave and orginal two bays emptied onto Santa Fe St. Fire House One was constructed in 1912 with City Hall, Police and was the only fire house in Johnson County, Kansas to have a working fire pole with second floor living quarters for the firemen. Quad 1 1950 Seagrave Open Top Quad 750gpm Engine 2 1962 K model Seagrave pump 1000gpm Engine 3 1969 K Model Seagrave pump 1000gpm Engine 4 1943 E model Mack 500gpm 1969 International Ambulance 1963 Fire Chief's buggy Two new Fire House were built in 1971 a replacement for this fire house with the new Snorkle and a Fire House Two. Olathe now operates seven fire house's with eight fire companies and two chief's onduty every day.
