Marc,

Ladder 5 was dispatched to a stuck elevator and never made it in because of this. Pipeline 49 was sent to a rubbish fire in the stadium parking lot and were pelted with bottles. The windows on the apparatus were smashed before they could get out of there.

Who the hell does that? They won for crying out loud. Why would you destroy your own city in victory? I hope the crews of this rigs were kicking some ass, and slapping some jaws.

It's not the first time fans have done something like this after a professional (or college for that matter) sports team has won some kind of championship.

Some people just don't know how to act. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/drcruiser.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Drcruiser' />

More like WHAT CITY DOES NOT DO IT! Too many times you see the centers of cities with cars turned over, fires set and looting taking place.

Funny thing... You dont See Tampa Bay in Philly tearing the City up becaused their team lost - Something to think about... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/machinegun.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Machinegun' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' />

Just heard a company leaving the Philly Shop on radio using LADDER 290 as their front line piece....

What is LADDER 290??? I have seen ENGINE 290 a LOANER ALF that Philly had worked a deal with ALF for use during repairs and service was being done.

Jack or any Philly Guys got info???

Well it is one thing to go a little crazy and break some stuff or flip over cars, BUT it is a whole other thing to attempt to injure public safety officials just trying to do their job!! That's just a little crazy and pisses me off!

I'm not sticking up for those people in any way, but I also wouldn't go as far as to say that those people were intentionally TRYING to hurt the firemen.

Ladder 5 is in service with Ladder 290 due to the Ladder tower being damaged last night. I was down there for a while and it was mostly peaceful but certain pockets of people just didn't know how to act at all. But they stopped real quick since Philly PD SWAT teams were detailed to broad st and when you see a cop decked out in black coming at you with an MP-5 in his hand the toughest dude would drop to his knees. It was crazy to sat the least thou.

Ladder 290 is a spare ladder assigned to the Shops. The 200 series number indicates a spare and 90 series indicates that it is stored at the Shops.

I figured so - what IS the piece? An Old Seagrave Tiller? I know that Engine 290 was more or less BRAND NEW but just a LOANER... Did PFD keep that engine or give it back?

And as if that weren't bad enough, tomorrow (Friday) there is an "official" victory parade scheduled. Why in the hell would you do that on a Friday? The worst possible day for something of that nature is a weekday while people (myself included) are trying to conduct business in Center City Philadelphia. I certainly hope there is some damn efficient traffic control, not to mention a liberal deployment of the riot squad.

As evidenced the other night, some uncivilized Philly people have once again made their city look bad. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' />

Unfortunately the actions of douchebags commiting douchebaggery (Thanks, Marc...now you have me saying it...) overshadowed a very special event. Instead of people in other cities being able to see images of the many revelers that behaved themselves and had a good time just having fun; the rowdy bufoonery of a bunch of hooligans is what will stick in their minds the most. As a long time Phillies fan who has waited for 28 long years for another World Series championship, I was absolutely ecstatic about the victory. The only thing I destroyed in celebration was my post victory snack which was quite delicious....Thanks for the great season Phillies!!

Did anyone get out of hand and light any fires after the game. I'm sure that place was crazy. I was working with some guys from up there and they said that the city would be burning tonight.

the same thing happened in State College Pa after Penn State defeated Ohio State recently but not to the magnitude as Philly but it was bad
