I heard a good one tonight. When the crew of Ladder 5 was changing over to the spare ladder they found the wallet of one of the idiots who was jumping on the apparatus. They turned it over to the PPD. This should be interesting.

Just announced this morning. Due to a huge budget deficit five engines and two ladders to be closed. The list that I have is Engines 1, 6, 8, 14, 39 and Ladders 1 and 11.

SQURT 8!?!?! Are they NUTS? There are only a handful of companies in Center City/Old Town... and they want to get rid of an Engine near one of the HIGHEST Populated areas of the CITY during the work week... Not to mention the Tourist area they protect? I know that the Traffic alone could justify the company staying open...



I am sure justifications are and will be made for each but good God... I know FDNY is looking to face some closings too.

That's Engine 58's piece. The number "13-xxxx" is the public property number. In the old system the property number for fire department apparatus started with "13" and was followed by four digits.

We at PFN are working on a QUALITY shot of the new Ladder Tower. But with the cuts and the weather being really bad as of late (just cleared out today) its taking longer than usual. It will be posted as soon as we get it. Any just check Steve's shot of Ladder Tower 5 in this months FAJ. Thats what we mean by quality.
