Engine 5-1 (88 E\-One Cyclone) has not been sold. It is stored at our Training Center

Engine 5-2 (97 E\-One Hush) was sold to Allegheny Twp VFD in Westmoreland County, PA

Question on the Tanker. I see it has a 300 gallon foam tank. What type of foam is carried? Also I think from your roster there is only one engine that carries foam so is the tanker you used as the primary foam unit?

The tanker carries 300 AFFF. The Engine that carries foam is Engine 62. It carries 200 AFFF and 50 Class A foam. Both units run together when large quantities of foam are needed.

I believe it was a 73 or 74 Seagrave. It was replaced with a 93 Seagrave. While still in service with Monroeville it was repainted to white with a red stripe.

I don't know who it was sold to but I last saw it at a truck repair shop on Rt. 22 near New Alexandria, Pa. back in 95 or 96.

Have any more please post them, especially Monroeville #1's gold Mack CF.[/quote]

It's a 77 Seagrave J series, 1500/500. I believe that it was sold to Whitney-Hostetter VFD in Westmoreland County in 93. Kenco refurbished it in 1988 which was when the 5 Monroeville Fire Companies decided to have all the apparatus in town painted white with a red stripe and have the new Monroeville Fire patch placed on the doors.

No problem our replacement program can get confusing at times. Depending on which agreement the apparatus fell under a piece of apparatus could be replaced at either the 15 or 20 year mark. In one agreement all apparatus was replaced at 15 years. Then in another it was extended to 20 year + a refurb at the 10-15 year mark.

For instance Engine 12 which is a 93 was refurbished 2 years ago, so it will get replaced at 20 years (2013). Engine 41 which is a 96 hasn't been refurbished and will be replaced at 15 years (2011).

Great pics of the old 52, 51 & T5. I remember them fondly. The old E-52 (82 ALF, 2000/750 the last open cab built by ALF) is currenly with United Fire Rescue in Wall, PA as Engine 287. E-51 (76 Seagrave J, 1500/500) was sold to Morrell VFD in Fayette County. T-5 (73-74 ALF, 85' Snorkel, 1500 GPM no tank) was sold to Richland Twp VFD in Allegheny County. I don't know if E-51 or T-5 are still in service or if they've been sold to another company. Anyone have any info on them?

Morrell sold the Seagrave, but I'm not sure where to. They purchased a HME/Toyne engine 2 years ago. Richland Twp. got rid of the ALF becuase it wouldn't pass either inspeciation or aerial certification, and never replaced it.

As of at least a year ago, Whitney Hostetter still runs the Seagrave.
