Great picture Chris, thanks for uploading. Yeah, it was a wet one that day. Hopefully, our schedule will be a little more open this coming season and we can get her out for some more events. Missed a lot of them last year with conflicts. Here's to a better '08.

Doing a little work on the truck this spring. We've painted the "Crown" areas on the front and rear steps, as well as, added some misc. equipment to the cabinets. Nothing big but a couple things here and there as time and money allow.

Last Saturday, July 19tth, per the organizer's request, we participated in an event in Sparta, NJ at the Sussex County Vocational School. The Fire/EMS event was hosted by the local chapter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters with the key note address by Randolph Mantooth [aka Johnny Gage] of EMERGENCY fame. Unfortunately, the event was not well attended, nor was there much of any participation from the various fire departments throughout the county, who had all been invited. As a firefighter and buff, I have to admit I was very disappointed to see such weak participation from the community as well as the fire/ems folks locally. I am hoping that it had to do with people being at the shore or on vacation, or the extreme heat. Nonetheless, Randy probably spoke to a group of 75 people at best, in an auditorium that holds over 1000 people. For anyone reading this, I would like to express thanks to the Frankford and Fredon fire departments for their involvement.

On the plus side, I have to say that Randy Mantooth is a very nice guy who speaks very highly of fire/ems professionals. As with everyone else, I got an autograph and we got a couple photos of him with the Crown. They have yet to be developed, but at least I was able to take a shot of the engine all cleaned up.

Not a great pic because he looked down when I took the photo, but wanted to add a photo of Randolph Mantooth. I will add a shot of him with the truck once those pictures have been developed.

Here's a shot of the Frankford FD who had come to perform a simulated extrication. Unfortunately, due to the poor turnout, and the fact it took place after Randy's talk, they did their demo in front of maybe a dozen people. However, as I stated in a previous post, I would like to give them props for showing up and participating, which is more than I can say for the majority of their counterparts.

E2313 [F1627] made an appearance at the SPAAMFAA convention in Syracuse this weekend. Needless to say, we were the only Crown on display at the muster. At one point we were asked to pose the Crown along with a couple other rigs for a large group of photographers.

A very similar pic to this from the SPAAMFAA convention was printed in the Nov/Dec edition of "Fire Apparatus Journal." It is pretty cool to see your truck in a publication.

The truck is stored in Sussex County and gets out to some shows and events, depending on scheduling and the price of diesel fuel <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Any chance of it making the Catskill Chapter SPAAMFAA event this June? We're only about 20 miles or so from the Sussex Co. border.

That's on the agenda for next year. I attended the event this summer and didn't realize people were bringing their own rigs up. I heard Andy Leider has a Crown, in horrible shape, so I was told. I would love the chance to check it out sometime.
