Having been one of the original 7 Shift Captains at Willowfork, I can tell you the following:

E12 was a demo and bought site unseen as the department was slated to start and they needed a fire truck. Nothing more than that.

E11 was a speced rig from the get go. It was built at the LTI factory as a production slot was available, or so we were told.

Both were, are and will be mechanical nightmares and problems. E12 is by far the better of the 2.

On numerous occasions, 2 times with me on the seat, E11 blew a turbo with a column of smoke in the distance. It was almost like it was afraid to go to a fire. Ha ha. We had to limp in to the scene.

Oh well, these two rigs are part of my great dislike for ALF, or at least the current form as they are incredibly maintenance intensive, almost to the point of not being able to get wet. Ha ha.

I was in Hearne around mid-Aug to administer there annual pump test and asked one of the members about E1. Mainly if they bought it used due to the Powercall and Onspot Snow Chains (which might be a first in Texas <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' /> ). All he could say is that it came from somewhere on the east coast. My guess would be PA, VA, or MD. He also said the truck will do 85 mph. <-- <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' />

The lime green tanker was not there. Is this a new addition?

I would agree by the paint job, graphics and overall setup of the piece. Plus the unit was for sale not to long ago. Nice shot either way!

That is EX Greater Springfield VFD Engine 422. Look at Yosimite Sam graphic behind the cab door. I bet it still says "Double Duece is on the Loose". Ah I can remember working on this unit when I was at Singer.

I got a pic of the Yosimite Sam graphic. Once the board is fix I'll post the pic of it.
