Is it a true rumor that the county is giving the new Seagrave squad that they assigned to 20 to 8 instead??

someone from 20 told me that about a month ago, now that a certain someone is off of the fire commission but i have yet to see anything move or change. i was at amd before thanksgiving and the old squad 27 (HME) was there and they were waiting to replace some things before it went back in service, im assuming more likely thats going to 8 but the countys done strange things before. 8s squad is falling apart, parts fall off all the time, cracks in the body and frame all over it, compartment doors fly open going down the road because of the body movement, over 200k miles on it, but somehow the county found that 20s needed to be replaced before it.. who knows

What did 20 do with the old squad?? There was nothing wrong with it. Only age!!

BCFD,

The unit that went on to become FIU 15...errr FIU 815? was the former squad 22. I wanna say it's a Freightliner/American General but not 100% sure.

Morningside ran this 1963 G.M.C. L7OOO with bodywork by Bruco. The unit had a 1OOO gpm pump and only 3OO gallons of water. This beauty pumper was scrapped around 1992.

By request, this I believe is the "other" Mack CF from Landover Hills, PGCO,MD.

I posted this on "relics" back in late 2007. the photo was taken in summer 2007 at the Lady&Taylor/PA Fire Apparatus scrapyard on RT.234 between Heidlersburg and Biglerville,PA.

# on door is 00301.

It is Engine 301 a 1971 Mack CF 1250 gpm rating downed to 1000 gpm with a 300 gallon water tank a twin to this unit delivered in 1972 was Engine 302. Engine 301 was purchased by Prince Georges County and assigned to the Landover Hills Station. The twin was purchased by Landover Hills VFD and later rehabbed to become Water Supply 30 (5" hose unit).
