Thanks Larry! I'm really not sure who it was assigned to. Looking back, shooting it didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but now I'm really glad I got it considering this type of truck is really a rig of the past now and it has the old, plain FDNY paint scheme too.

it was one of 8 Seagrave rearmounts delivered, but 1 of 2 delivered with Cummins Diesel Engines. the other 6 were Detroits. This one was originally L38, then went to L30 in 1991. it became a spare in 1994 and was disposed of in 2000.

I knew if anyone would know the history of this rig, it would be you.

Thanks for the detailed info.

3 Truck's former rig. Was also used on a few episodes of the old tv show Third Watch. This rig was out at The Rock when I went through Probie School in July of 2001. We used it as a training rig for truck company evolutions almost everyday.

Any reason why FDNY needs this? My FD's Seagrave Maurader II does not have this feature...

Check your rig, it should be on the roof some place.

With the big box on the roof they moved it to the window.
