Quote:A couple of 2-Door, Non-Crew Cab, DASH Chassis Pumpers shot at the Factory during one of my early trips to Appleton.
These are the D-8000 version of the Dash. Designed to compete with the Ford C-8000, they featured the same Cat 3208T diesel and Allison MT-643 transmission, but in a custom chassis.
Pierce had a couple of flatbed trucks with this cab that I saw there around the same time. They were painted blue and had matching flatbed trailers. They were used to ferry parts from the downtown factory to the other two locations. I should have taken pictures of them! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Somewhere I have a couple of photos of the Parts Runners and their trailers, Dave... When I find them I'll post them if you want......
Pinellas just reassigned some Station #'s, Pinellas Park #21 with Rescue 21 has been assigned #37 (Rescue 37) to coinside with their other Stations (33,34,35,36).
#21, which was originally assigned to the now defunct Kenneth City Fire Department, has been reassigned to the Tierra Verde contract station operated now by Lealman. So the engine pictured, Engine 2 is now Engine 21, I'm sure all that was changed was the number placard. I'm guessing #2 will remain for use with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, although no new stations are planned or needed.
