One of my most unusual Pierce fire trucks I have photographed was in Bland, Virginia. Their Unit 24 is this 2005 Oshkosh MTVR/Pierce Hawk Extreme equipped with a 500/2400/60. It has job number 16809.
It is designed to go off road since Bland has numerous mountains in the area. In addition, there are two large tunnels and this truck is designed to be able to handle emergencies located within the tunnels.

I am surprised that this ride could get that much flow from drafting from the front suction, with all the turns and elbows in the piping. A best draft position would have been from the right side of the pump. 2800 GPM from a 1500 pump?

He has to have a tube off of the panel as well, John. You can greatly increase your capacity by adding a second tube.

You got great eyes! I looked again and still can't see it, blending in I guess, but it will increase the capicity.
