Ladder Co 1 from Elizabeth (NJ) FD operated this 1980 Mack CF Peter Pirsch aerial. The building in the background is one of the many buildings that still remain from the Singer Sewing Machine Co in Elizabeth. That is the Arthur Kill waterway that separates Elizabeth from Staten Island, NY.

I found this one on my recent trip north. It sits behind a supermarket at the intersection of Routes 5 and 20 in Silver Creek, NY. It's in pretty bad shape, the bottoms of some of the compartments are laying on the ground below the rig where they fell out! It's a 1966 Mack, C-95F-1531, with a 1000 GPM pump and a large tank, possibly 1000 gallons. Some of the lettering could still be read. "Engine 363" and "Hambden" were still visible, even though they had been removed. I googled "Hambden Fire" and the only one I could find was Hambden Fire Department in Chardon, OH. Anyone have further info?

I agree. The sad thing is that it's been neglected for quite some time, that much rust didn't occur overnight. I'm not sure how long it has been sitting there, I get to WNY at least once a year and that's the first time I ever saw it. It's easily spotted from the road, so I don't think I've missed it before, it just hasn't been there more than a couple years tops.
