Has FDNY*EMS gone to the F450 and bigger module? I know the roll up door is a new addition. Also thanks for sharing.

All of the Haz-Tac and Rescue Medic units are have been getting these new F450 with a box that is approx 3 feet bigger than the average FDNY EMS bus. As for the regular units, They have been getting new units but they are F350's. The reason for these new buses is that we have a good amount of extra equipment ( 2 scba's, decon pool, 2 stools, level B and tychem F suits, hydrant wrench, j hooks, hydrant reducer and hose, various decon solutions, haz-mat books etc.) rescue medics carry a few more extra items. In my opinion, The New Haz-Tac and Rescue Medic units could have been designed a whole lot better. My unit (04Henry) got the new Haz-Tac Bus back in July of 2008. They get about 3.4 miles to the gallon. The bus's have a roll up door on each side. they 3 SCBA holders behind these doors, but they didnt think because when you go to mount the SCBA's on the mount, they stick out too far so the roll up doors cant come down. The bus also has air bags so when you open the rear doors to unload the stretcher, the bus's rear end lowers to the ground. Other than that, I am a fan of the bus.
Matt, I would love to see the space behind the roll up doors and some inside pics.
Thanks, Andy

Thanks for the reply.
Is there a pass through on these? Or is there a camera/microphone in the patient compartment with a screen in the front?
