Can someone explain "Squad Medic"?
Cornelius-Lemley Fire Department-Volunteer Captain
Denver Fire Department, NC- Career Lieutenant
They were assigned to the Squad Company's (Rescue Engines). The city had (4) Squad Medics 11, 40, 47, and 54. The plan was to use those medics if one of the Squads was working on a incident ie haz-mat, hi-angle rescue, etc. Baltimore's medic are very busy and hardly are ever in stations. So if a incident would happen typically you would get a regualr medic instead of a squad medic. They were also funded off of a Homeland Security Grant. That money is gone so they went back to regular medics. Hope this helps.
Got a shot of the City Coffee wagons today at fire fleamarket . A friend of mind off the wagons wanted me to shoot all 3 together. To bad the weather was a little wet. I still like the shot. A shot is better then no shot.

Can anyone explain how the Baltimore apparatus shop# system works? I've seen lots of apparatus with a three digit number, such as Truck 21's 2000 Seagrave #312. But lots of the newer stuff has a six digit #, such as Truck 2's 2003 Seagrave #030326. AND, if possible, does anyone have a full list of shop #'s for the current fleet? VERY thankful in advance for any and all help!!!
