A pumper (shown in this topic before) and a Snorkel were built for Chehalis/WA, also a pumper and a Snorkel for Renton/WA. The bodybuilder of all 4 units was Westland Fire Apparatus, the successor of Roney Fire Apparatus from Portland/OR.Probably all 4 trucks are long gone.[/quote]

if I remember right, I saw a Fireliner Snorkel at Depoe Bay, OR in 1992. Unfortunately, the rig had some kind of damage, so they could not move it out of the firehouse. As I did not know how rare Fireliners are, I did not take a picture in the station. The Snorkel was fairly short, so I would guess it was a 65' model. Anybody out there who has more info?

As I recall, that was the former Renton, WA Snorkel.

The Freightliner Fireliner reminds me of tthe rigs in Canada that I have seen pics of that looks like more modern Freightliner cabs set lower ahead of the engine like. I have seen several Freightiner Auto hauler cab/chassis set up the same way.

Quote:The Freightliner Fireliner
For what its worth, I do recall reading that Freightliner was going to resurrect the "Fireliner" name before the purchase of American LaFrance.
