Commish, the 1988 is the only Arlington Engine with a 750 tank. The rest have 500.

Did Arlington change their numbering system from a multiple digit system to a single digit system?

If so, how do the old relate to the new ones?

Thanks in advance.

Haha.. we still number them "in house" to coorespond with the respective house # but the countywide re-numbering happened about when Ron took those pictures. Now the numbering is a company #, followed by an apparatus designation. I can elaborate a helluva lot more on it if you want, but for times sake here it is in a nutshell-

1st- Company # = 31 (Amenia) through 71 (West Clinton) going upwards alphabetically

2nd- Apparatus Designation #

11-29- engines

31-35- tankers

45-49- ladders

51-55- rescues

61-64- brush

71-79- ambulance

81- hose truck ..... blah blah blah

...So arlington engine 1 is 32-11, engine 5 is 32-15, truck 1 is 32-45, etc...

Got it? LOL!

Believe it or not the 1993 E\-One and the old Ward ultravision are one in the same! It's glider kit rebuild!

More Arlington and Valley pics!!! The picture of old AFD engine 2 in all of her glory is great- she's now engine 8 in red oaks mill and hardly rolls... sad given that the engine is still to this day ahead of its time!

Perfect and thanks for the explanation. Does Arlington run 2 truck companies? If not, which one came first, the 95' ladder tower or the 110' rear mount?

Thanks in advance.

Yes in short-

The 95' E\-One Hurricane rear mount ladder tower (32-46) was first in 1993; replacing a 1960? Ford C/ Seagrave 100' mid- mount aerial (which can be seen in the NYS Oldies thread under "Roosevelt") which was at Sta. 5 (Croft Corners) at the time and sold to Roosevelt FD in Dutchess Co following delivery in 1994.

This purchase moved "Da olde Truck 3", a 1972 Seagrave K series 100' RM originally at HQ ( which can also be seen in the NYS Oldies thread under "Arlington".. thanks Ron!) to Station 5. (Also of note Truck 3 was the first piece of apparatus I ever took a ride in, at age 4 ... LOL <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

The 1997 110' E\-One Hurricane then came along which replaced Truck 3 (which is no where to be found ATT) and was stationed to Croft Corners and is still there today.

Currently we are in committee for the replacement of 32-46 (the 93 E\-One).... It will be sweet without a doubt... and possibly the flagship to a "color change".. LOL!

.. don't worry- it'll still be red! Sorry Ron!
