Sewickley Twp. Fire Dept. in Herminie, Westmoreland County. Bill, I believe the Greenock Ford/E-One rescue is the one that is currently or was at West Newton. You would have to ask them for sure though.
Alright... it is on my list now. I have never heard of Herminie to be honest... but I like the color scheme!! Let me know when you want to come to Franklin County, I am still on Midnights and have to work weekends but I can still give you a day... I am off Monday and Tuesday if either of those days work better. I have access to all of the fire chief's information so I can make contact pretty well. Fritz

I believe they were both purchased at the same time (1986?), possibly from the same dealer. ***REPOST*** Rescue 4 from Greenock West Newton, Westmoreland County, PA Engine/Rescue 82 Ford C/E-One, still in service I do have a better picture, but I figured passenger side to passenger side would be a better comparison.

After the open cab LaFrance, West Newton ran a Century tiller that came from Old Lycoming, Lycoming County, PA. It served until 2007 when it failed certification due to rust issues. It met its end at Fortunatos, on Route 22 near Blairsville, where it may still be. West Newton now runs the xHuntingdon, Huntingdon County, 100' Seagrave that was formerly FDNY.

Are some of those pictures from the 1989 Pennsylvania State Firemen's Convention Parade in Latrobe? If, do you have any more pics to share? Do you have any relics from the 1992 Allegheny County Firemen's Convention in North Versailles?

The engine is still in service: http://www.jonestownfire.com/ I understand they just received a grant to replace an Engine with the stipulation they sell an older one. This will probably be sold within the next year.

Braddock VFD # 2 ALF 700 ladder. This was purchased from Oil City, Pa. and replaced a ALF JOX (pic of the JOX was posted earlier in this thred by tascman) that served the paid dept. then was given to the VFD. The 700 was replaced by the 900 and was sold to the Unity VFD in Plum, Pa.
Unity then painted it powder blue and ran it up until 90-92, somewhere in that time period. From there it ended up in Denbo at Pechins. I saw it in one of the warehouses. Unity replaced it with a 100 m/m from Cherry Hill N.J.

Both of the Turtle Creek Hendricksons were built by Howe.
Ed was this the one that had a Century 2000 cab placed on it?
Rosedale, Penn Hills No. 2 had the Century 2000 cab. Companies 1 & 2 had ALF's, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7 were Macks. At one time #7 had a CF engine, a CF Thibault aerial and an MC Rescue in their station.

Dave, you are correct, both purchased by the borough council for a cost of a little over $140,000 back in 1974.

The Canonsburg ladder was refurbished last in its life, and had the cab enclosed. It was also painted black over red. Sold to City Hook & Ladder in Lewistown, PA. where it is still in service. I believe it is a 1965/85 ALF 100'.
