Mike,
Interesting note on the Castle Shannon engine. It was sold to Bunola. Whenever Bunola got their new ALF Liberty they didn't need the Castle Shannon engine. They traded it to Fallowfield Twp. for airpacks that they needed.
West Point is in Westmoreland County, PA.
great old rigs keep them coming

Turtle Creek VFD Hendrickson/Grove ladder, believe it is a 1974 model. It is still in service with Turtle Creek but is now white. Anybody know who did the body? T.C. also had a Hendrickson/Howe pumper delivered at the same time, could the ladder body also be a Howe? this pic was also taken in a parade on Braddock Ave. in Braddock. This truck was damaged when a wall collapsed during a fire in Braddock years later.[/quote]
In August,1974, Turtle Creek paraded both of these rigs in the Western District Convention parade at Somerset,PA. I recall that they were mostly unlettered, and were quite impressive, as was the 6-hour parade itself. The combo of being 14 years old with an inadequate 126 size camera, means my photos are mostly good for inspiring memories... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' />
