Quote:Main Transit F.C. of Amherst NY ran this Continental top mount pumper. Anyone know the year, pump, tank and is that an Oshkosh chassis?

I don't have the year, but I have it as a Duplex chassis. It's a 1500/1000. Nice looking B&W's!

Do you think these late rigs belong here or the New Youk thread?

I do because they are over 10 years old.

If you have any information on anything I post, please feel free to help.

If this one is really from the Rochester in New York State, it is marked completely different from any other older Rochester rigs I have seen. I don't believe they ever ran a Ladder 42, either. All of their ladders were called "trucks". They also had "N.Y." on most of the rigs that did not have the metal plaque on the door.

The "sub-title" of the New York State thread says "Current apparatus", so if the rig is still in service, I'd say it goes there. If basing it on age, I'd say that 20-25 years would be a more appropriate cut-off point, as "most" rigs are usually replaced somewhere in the 18-20 year range, and 25 years old constitutes an antique.

Frank this one is definitely not Rochester,NY, as they never had anything like this, or any rigs numbered like this. I'm thinking it kinda has the Rochester, NH, or the Rochester,MN look to it, perhaps GA Dave knows for sure.

Either this is the same truck posted previously with a newer cab or it was totally a new truck (which I think it is); Hewlett X-Trk 303 - American LaFrance 100' TT.

Around the same time, Hewlett also had an American LaFrance to sort of match the truck - X-Eng 305.
