Here's a couple of my favorite rigs. This one is definitely a classic, Brookfield, IL Engine 316 a 1958 70th Anniversary Seagrave with a 1000 pump and 300 tank. Serial# K-5120

Here's a few more classic's for the Pirsch fans out there. Villa Park, Il Truck 971 is a 1961 Pirsch with a 750 pump and a 75' MM ladder. Serial# 2521

Excellant pics of what rigs used to look like. See they weren't all built on a Sinle Cab Chassis like Pierce and E\-One and others do now. The older rigs had a personality that you dont get with the one manufacturer/model fits all mentallity that has overcome the fire service.

KFD I agree with you 100%, thats why I like posting the old rigs. The new stuff you can hardly tell apart without a scorecard sometimes.

Leyden Fire Prot. Dist (Melrose Park, IL) ran this 1961 Ford/Bean for a number of years. It has a 750 Pump, 250 tank and 65'MM ladder. I believe the ladder is a Grove. Serial# 57-61. Photographed 6/25/1994
