What Ward LaFrance thread would be complete without the home town rigs. I don't have the numbers for these two and they were sold in 2005. I could put you in touch with the department if you need the info. These are reposts from the old site.

scranton,pa had the largest fleet of wlf's in the northest part of,pa here is a bit of history on all of them.



x-engine 2 1978 wlf first started out as engine 15

x-engine 6 1978 wlf 1978-1990 in 1990 it went to engine 13 retired in 1993 it is now cut up for scrap



x-engine 7 1978 wlf it started life as a spare in 1990 it became engine 15

x-engine 8 1970 wlf damaged in an accident in 1974 rebuilt with a 195 cab the frame was shortened 2 feet it was refurbed with a new alf century body in 1985 at the alf shops in dunmore,pa it now resides in denaples junkyard in dunmore,pa



x-engine 9 1977 wlf it served engine 9 from 1977 to 1989 then it became a spare it also went to denaples it is literally in a scrap pile



x engine 10 1970 wlf origially engine 9 it was rebuilt in 1986 into an american la france engine using a 1000 series cab and a century body.

it also went to denaples and it was cut up approximately10 years ago



x engine 13 is a 1976 wlf it originally was engine 7 it was refurbed in 1994 using the body from the old engine 10 the one mentioned above and parts from the 5 other junked wards it is still in service as a spare (probably not too much longer)



x engine 14 1971 wlf it was delivered in 1972 it served engine 4 from 1972 to 1987 it then went to engine 14 from 1988 to 1993 it went to renegade fire apparatus for a motor rebuld and a paint job for the cab

in 1994 it went to engine 2 for a few months then to engine 8 in 1995 to engine 9 in 1997 it was scrapped it is still in tact today

also rehabbed in 1985 by the alf shops in dunmore with a alf century body and a complete motor rebuild\



x-engine 15 1977 wlf it was originally engine 2 until 1980 then it was switched with e-2 the 78 wlf
