This station was built with donated land by the KU Endowment. For years the University wanted a Fire House on Campus that could house the Truck Company. This location is actually the near the center of Lawrence so it made since to house the Truck Company here. This build also has up stairs Fire Headquarters and a large community training room.

2006-current Engine 5, Ladder 5, Medic 5, Batt. 1, Engine 6 (Reserve), Medic (Reserve), Haz-Mat 5

Firefighter Statue infront of the Headquarters entrance. Odd the Helment Front has M-5 for Medic 5 on it instead of E-5 or L-5.

New logo 2005-Current. Reflects more Fire Service than old logo in next post. Lawrence has even been made larger to reflect the Fire Department. Even the fire helment fronts say Lawrence again instead of LDCFM. We all believe it is only a matter time before the rigs say Fire Department once again.

OLD 1997-2005 Logo. This was developed by taking the Lawrence Eagle head and adding the star of life after the merger in 1997.

The Condensed Version. CFD2 was formed in 1947 as the first fully career fire department in Johnson County, Kansas. I do only of Fire House One. They are from my 35mm on film from a few years ago, I will look for them. Hutch is a nice department with seven fire houses. The union web site has current fire house photos and their tech rescue station 4 has a web page. The guys from fours are great. Sorry I could not be more help. Hutch is four hours from KC and most of the drive is two lane highway, not super easy from KC. It is a fun city though with the Cosmosphere and Salt Mines. One of my bestfriends got married last year in Hutch but with such a tight time frame and entertaining my girlfriend no fire house stops were made. Stay Safe, Rick

Hutchison, Kansas Fire Department Fire House One

Home of Quint 1, Squad 1, and Batt. 1

Prior 1988 Engine 1, Ladder 1, and Batt. 1

The orginal fire house is in the photo to the left noticed the bricked up doors. The older portion housed horse drawn equipment. A large gym sits about the old fire house and is accesed from the new addtion by a sliding freight door on the second floor in the dayroom. The current addtion was a WPA project with two fire poles.
