There was a "Fire Watch" when it was still a building.....In Quincy if the alarm system is out of service longer than 24hrs a fire watch is required and if the demo is going to remain on site and not truck away at the end of the day a fire watch is required..



They used the truck to not only keep the dust down ..but the asbestos too... The building had aspestos in the floor tiles.Instead of stripping the tiles off the floor, they nocked it down with the tiles in place and then took all the debris to a special land fill... All the equipment operators wore "level b" while they where doing the demo.



If you look at the photo there are bails of hay with red tape going between them... I think the tape said "Aspestos Abatement Zone"...



I thought... Oh good... that way there the aspestos knows how far it can go...before it has to stop....

LOL OK then I Hope QFC was represented somewhere! Thanks for the info. Around here in NJ IF a Firewatch is needed - it is up to the building owner to handle... Private Security or other person he picks.

Based on the photo and the information listed by your reply, I believe that I can identify the rig. It appears to be a 1970 Oshkosh/1971 Pierce (#7252-C) Pumper with 1250 GPM Pump and 500 Gallon Water Tank that originally served the Affton Fire District located in South St. Louis County, Missouri. When Affton purchased a 1989 Maxim pumper, it was traded into Leo Ellebracht Company of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and was reportadly repainted red and sold. Based on some subtle aspects of the rig and identical pump panel layout, I am nearly certain this is the rig in question.



That having been said, to the person(s) who reported the history of the rig, can anyone give me a definitive lineage of the rig working back from the last known fire department served? I keep a database of fire apparatus history in the St. Louis Metro area and would like to update my files on this rig noting all of the known departments it served in after leaving Affton.



If possible, please send a reply to my email of fireapparatusfan@swbell.net as I don't frequently check the posts for updates.

PS. For those interested, a sister rig was delivered with this pumper, a tandem rear axle Oshkosh/Pierce 1250/280/75-foot Snorkel. It was later sold to Hazelwood, Missouri where it served until 1997 before being sold to Hillsboro, Illinois.

I do not believe it is Coatesville VA's old rig. Reason - the door seal is wrong - not the Charlie Mullin door deal seal if you know what I am talking about.

Upon first glance, I figured this was an old Atlas tanker. However upon closer inspection, this truck has never had a pump or tank. It's always been a rescue or a service truck. There were no papers anywhere in the truck, and all the plates were removed from everything. I searched every visible square inch of this thing and turned up nothing. I'm stumped. I figure either this is a really old body that's been remounted on a Ford C chassis at some point, or this is a unique rescue truck with no information anywhere! Can someone identify the builder or help me out somehow?
